About Ability

Ability magazine is a campaigning publication for people who have difficulty using IT. It is aimed at those who buy, run and use accessible systems in the workplace. In each issue Ability magazine provides vital insight into the products, techniques and skills required to deliver systems for users who find it difficult to use standard software and hardware.

The team of contributors to Ability is led by John Lamb, editor and publisher, who has spent his career writing about IT. He has edited Computer Weekly, Informationweek and Butler Group Review. Kevin Carey CoVice Chair of the Royal National Institute for the Blind and Chair of the Ofcom Community Radio Fund Panel writes a column each issue.

Ability’s goals are to:

  • Inform our readers about technologies that will make a concrete difference to their quality of life
  • Help employers deploy systems that will enable them to employ and retain disabled individuals
  • Highlight organisations that demonstrate 'best practice'
  • Promote awareness of the legal obligations of employers to make their IT systems accessible.

Ability is published by John Lamb Media Ltd.
