Campaign for relay services

The article in the summer issue of Ability "Deaf group battles for better telephone services" - suggests that the onus should be on BT to provide the new services.

TAG is, in fact, calling on the Government to find a way to ensure that deaf people's relay services can be modernised and made available at fair prices.

TAG is exploring mechanisms for the development and funding of modernised relay services. It is working closely with Ofcom and Government departments and expects that the issues will soon be raised in Parliament.

Some of Ability's readers may wish to help in the campaign by lobbying their MPs or in other ways. If so, please contact me at rmyers@waitrose.com
